Moreos & My cookie dough recipe

I love pinterest. Its full of all sorts of ideas and recipes. I kept seeing this one and after mentioning it to my brother he went out and bought the ingredients and we tried it.

We call it 'the moreo'
Its an oreo wrapped in chocolate chip cookie dough and cooked, and its not for the faint of heart! In the end it doesn't really taste like an oreo anymore, which is strange, but it was still pretty good.

Our kitchen wasn't really stocked to make real cookie dough so we used storebought stuff. The store bought only had enough to wrap 9 cookies, one of which we ate raw.. (a blessing and a curse.. you can really only eat one of these in a sitting. And that's coming from someone who can eat cookies like its going out of style!)

sorry for the cruddy photo
Instructions:

  • Get (or make!) cookie dough (if you need a recipe, mine is below).
  • Wrap it around an oreo.
  • Bake in the oven 8-12 minutes on 325.
  • Die of a diabetic coma.

If you plan on trying this, I would suggest making the cookie dough as the store bought stuff was slightly too sticky and hard to work with, and would probably wrap better with less chocolate chips than normally called for.

My cookie recipe

1 cup flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 (loosely packed) brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 tsp baking soda
Mint chocolate chips (1/2 cup or as many as you want..)

Instructions

  • Mix egg, butter and vanilla.
  • Add sugar.
  • Add flour and baking soda.
  • Add chocolate chips.
  • Spoon cookie dough onto tray equally spaced, cook until browned (approx 10 min) on 375 on the middle rack.

Enjoy! Let me know what you think of you try this.
